What is Banba Band?

Banba Band is a reusable band designed for Irish dancers to wear over their dance shoes as an alternative to plastic tape. It helps keep shoes secure while offering a cleaner, more practical and more stylish solution.

What sizes are available?

Banba Band is available in 5 sizes. Each size is listed clearly on the website, and we’ll also have separate posts to help guide you in choosing the right fit.

How do I know which size to order?

We recommend checking the size guide before placing your order. If you’re unsure which size is best, please send us a message, and we’ll be happy to help.

How do pre-orders work?

For our pre-order launch, we are offering 100 pre-order spaces per size only. Once those 100 spaces for a size are filled, that size will close until stock is fully available.

Is Banba Band first come, first served?

Yes -  pre-orders are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the available spaces in your size are gone, you’ll need to wait for the next release or full stock launch.

How much does Banba Band cost?

All Banba Bands are £25, regardless of size.

How do I place a pre-order?

To place a pre-order:

3. Complete checkout

Once your order is placed, we’ll use the email address you provide at checkout to keep you updated on shipping and dispatch.

When will my pre-order be posted?

We’ll keep all pre-order customers updated by email and let you know as soon as your Banba Band is ready to be posted.

Will I receive updates about my order?

Yes -as long as you provide your email address at checkout, we’ll keep you informed about your pre-order and dispatch date.

Can I wear buckles with my Banba Band?

Yes! Banba Band has been designed to give dancers the option to wear it with or without buckles.

We know that not every dancer wears buckles when dancing, so we wanted to create a band that works for everyone. Whether you prefer a plain look or a little bit of sparkle, Banba Band has been designed with every dancer in mind.

We’ll also be sharing a video very soon on our Instagram page to show exactly how Banba Band works if you wear buckles, so keep an eye out!

I don’t like my shoes being too tight - how tight will Banba Band be?

The good news is that Banba Band has been approved by a physiotherapist, which means it has been designed not to be too tight in a way that would restrict ankle movement or affect performance. Banba Band offers support and a secure fit, while still allowing dancers the freedom of movement they need.

I like my shoes to be very tight - will Banba Band be as tight as using tape?

Because Banba Band has been approved by a physiotherapist, the fabric needs to remain breathable and cannot be made as restrictive as tape.

If you prefer a very tight fit, a simple solution is to still use tape underneath to create your desired level of tightness. The Banba Band can then be worn over the top to cover the tape and give the same clean finished look. This also means you can use tape in any colour and apply it however suits you best, while still enjoying the look and style of Banba Band.

Are Banba Bands only for dancers who currently use tape?

Not at all. Banba Band has been designed for dancers who want a cleaner, more practical and more stylish finish to their dance shoes - whether that’s as a replacement for tape, as a cover over tape, or simply as part of their overall look.

Are Banba Bands only for Irish dancers?

Banba Band has been designed specifically with Irish dancers in mind, using experience and knowledge from within the sport to create a practical and stylish solution that works for dancers of all levels.

How should I care for my Banba Band?

To keep your Banba Band looking its best, we recommend keeping it away from anything that could stain it, such as shoe polish.

Banba Band can also be cared for with a gentle wash when needed. As with anything in Irish dancing, how long it stays looking competition-ready will depend on how often it’s worn and how it’s cared for.

We would recommend having one Banba Band for competitions and one for class to help keep your competition pair looking as fresh as possible. After lots of wear, you may want to replace your Banba Band depending on how it has been cared for and used.

Can I return or exchange my Banba Band?
